Creating clean, beautiful spaces for peaceful living
Why Klēn?
“Your house is so peaceful.” Guests repeatedly paid me this compliment after experiencing the home I designed for our family. This admiration was the ultimate endorsement of something I genuinely believe: that ideally, the spaces we inhabit should inspire and reflect how we hope to live. By marrying beauty and function, we step out on the path to a beautiful life.
I began by helping family and friends with design projects: choosing paint colors, picking out furniture, and participating at design appointments to choose countertops, cabinets, and tiles. This “work” always excited me, and ultimately revealed a professional ambition. Klēn design was launched. The name is inspired by my Irish roots and a tie to my clean, warm-modern style.

Let's Work Together
I will work as your talented guide to take you through the process of navigating decisions to create a home that balances beauty and function. My process is to meet with you, listen and look at your space, and then begin the project using pinterest boards and a design plan to quickly, creatively, and collaboratively complete your design. Clean, peaceful, beautiful…. Let's create spaces together.
About
Kris Veenema lives on the north shore of Massachusetts. She is a designer, music teacher, fitness enthusiast, and singer in the band Town Crier. In addition to her own design work through Klēn, she works part-time at Timeless Interiors ub Hamilton. Her love of music, creativity, and movement naturally influences her approach to design-creating spaces that feel personal, comfortable, and beautifully considered.
Her first love is her family. She is a wife and a mother to three kids- Claire, Haven, and Stella. When she is not on a design job, you can find her cooking, flower arranging, cleaning and tidying any space she inhabits, perusing secondhand shops for goods that have a story, enjoying the outdoors with her friends and her dog Winnie, and looking to have a good laugh, preferably the kind where you cry.
